The Central Café & Cacao is a second-degree association that was born on 14 March 2003. It’s made up of 9,000 small producers organised into thirteen cooperatives, located throughout the regions of Huánuco, Junín, Ayacucho, Cuzco and Puno.

The association is committed to cooperative institutional development and strong human resources. Its mission is to increase its social reach and improve the value chain of Peruvian coffee whilst simultaneously conserving the country’s natural resources and surroundings.

This coffee has been awarded the label of Cup of Excellence (CoE). The Cup of Excellence program started in 1999, the culmination of a global project designed to help farmers receive more money for their high-quality coffee. The program prides itself on its trace-ability and transparency across all avenues of production and is sometimes known as the “Olympics of Coffee.” Coffee companies around the globe can trust the CoE program to discover incredible coffees created by worthy and unknown farmers and thousands of farmers have had their lives changed by winning.
