A small town called Herrera, located in the department of Tolima, is home to the 58 members of the Association of Specialty Coffee Growers of Alto Saldana who have collectively produced this delicious coffee. Although the average farm size is only 4.5 hectares, the producers consistently fetch good cup scores and prices for their coffees.
This coffee has been grown under the shade of plantain, walnut, cámbulo, chachafruto, and guamo trees – a practice which is crucial in ensuring environmental sustainability through biodiversity.This region’s proximity to the equator, matched with a diverse range of microclimates, allows for almost continual harvest throughout the year, offering fresh flavours and character every time. This coffee passes through a washing process as well as detailed sorting after drying, and this meticulous process ensures a high level of quality in your cup!
